At least in my personal opinion, the best possible swing-away tire carrier is not one that depends on a single support/pivot point on the bumper as a bumper mounted swing-out tire carrier does.
More manufacturers are coming out with tub mounted swing away tire carriers because it is easier to make them strong enough so they don't start sagging/rattling later on. The tub mounted type has two main support/hinge points plus a third support for when it is closed. Bumper mounted carriers only have one main support point plus another when it is closed. Off-Road Fabricators in Arizona was the first tub mounted carrier and I'm on my second ORF carrier on two Jeeps. It's a superb product that after 7 years of carrying my 35" tire and two usually full 5-gallon jerry cans never sagged or rattled. The weight is passed through the tub via two hidden brackets to the rear rollbar mounts which support the weight, the tub itself doesn't actually support any weight.
Another company has come out with that type of design but I forget who it is for now, and Savvy is working on their version too. Not to mention you can run any style bumper you like because this type of spare tire carrier doesn't even touch the bumper. OR-Fab | Off-Road Fabricators
