What to check/change before a long road trip

Hey everyone,

I am a little new to the Jeep world. I bought an '02 TJ 6 cylinder with 136k mi on July 4th. I live in Virginia with my family during the summer and in about a week and a half I'm driving from Virginia to Utah, where I go to college. What should I be sure to check and/or replace before hitting the road? I was already planning on changing the oil, and probably the spark plugs.

Just did NJ to Miami and back in my 2005 with 260K miles on it, and I pretty much just did what you plan on doing, plugs oil... Here's something... When you change the plugs, make sure you look at the old ones. All should appear about the same color and condition. Black is bad, even if they are old. The parts where the electrode is should be the color of tea. This can be a good indicator of impending problems. How's the temp, usually? Maybe a radiator flush?
Good trip, happy Jeeping!

Check all tire pressure, including spare. Be sure to have the tools to change a spare with.

It usually runs a hair over 210. From what I've read that seems to be normal. Is that right?

That's what mine does, that's just about perfect.
