What Wheels

Alright heres the deal. Bought the wrangler with my father for him to have a back up vehicle in case his stopped running, for me to drive in the winter and the fact that I missed my old one. Im the one that drives it 95% of the time but anyways the factory wheels suck, Id love to put black wheels on it and think they would look sick (and a friend has 2 he said hed give me free) but my dad refuses to put black wheels on it and says black wheels look horrible. He hates them on my mustang but hey thats mine and I think it looks sick

Anyways so I'm looking for other options, he does like chrome and to be honest I dont really mind it, the jeep most likey will never see a trail so scratches and that arnt an issue. Heres how it sits right now, only thing different is I did paint the flares black.

So what do you guys think, if I did chrome Id do These or should I look for a silver wheel? it has the chrome front grill from the PO, and silver tail light guards and gas cover

If you want steel, everyone goes with Cragar. If you have a lot of money to spend, get aluminum. I went with these:

And remember, black is always better than chrome.

Try not to do chrome, polished aluminum is ok, upkeep is challenging, but they look better than chrome on a Jeep, IMO... Show your dad some pics here of all the Jeeps on black Cragars They are cheap, that's why most buy them, but also, they look pretty good too, IMO. Mickey Thompson classic II's are a popular choice for polished wheels...

Well looking around polished wheels are almost double what a painted one or even that chrome one would be which is out of the price range. I will never buy another mickey thompson wheel after my last set on my F150. So right now its either silver or chrome cragars it seems

I'm too old to stay up with what is the most stylin' wheel but this is my favorite inexpensive aluminum wheel, the AR-23 from American Racing. That's what was on my last TJ when it was stolen earlier this year.

The cheap black wheel route

I have the same super basic wheels that no one wants. Painted them black with s/s lug nuts. I actually get compliments on them. You might want to show this pic to your Daddy-O.

go to wheelpros.com or wheelenvizio.com I believe both of these sites allow you to view your vehicle and interchange wheel options on them, but if all else fails you could get a mixed wheel as someone earlier stated black and chrome. Also there are some that are machine finish that looks really good also. good luck

Yeah I'm kinda old school too, I like the bling more than the black. What problems did you have with a mickey wheel? Where they the classic 2's? Cause the original ones are made by Alcoa

I would avoid chrome unless you plan on washing the salt off of them weekly during the winter... I had chrome wheels on my old truck (American Racing Jammer II's) which IMO looked badass...but after a couple winters, they looked terrible. Stained so bad straight wheel acid couldn't get it out and they were pitted horribly. Why? Because when the temps 5*F through part of the winter with a foot of snow on the ground, I was NOT about to go out there and clean the salt residue off my wheels. They also oxidize like hell.

You need to move. Then you can run what ever wheels you want.
