What would symptoms be of transposed injector wires

Anyone know what an engine would sound like if you inadvertently switched the #1 an #2 or #5 and #6 injector wires? I had a shop diagnose my current engine problem and when I got it back (along with the bad news that I had a failed tappet and cam lobe), the fuel bar and all vaccum hoses were removed and pushed off to the side, unlabeled of course. Fast forward to when I went to reassemble (with new crate engine), I had to guess at the #1/2 and #5/6 wire locations since they exited the fuel bar wire assembly at the same point. Engine is now running rough, and I'm just wondering if I may have transposed the wires.

Any ideas?

Yep not connecting the right connector to the right fuel injector will definitely make it run poorly.

Major misfires, and I can't imagine the engine not throwing several different codes.

You can tell by the wire colors which goes where but with no profile info I can't help you.

Moral of this story...clearly mark all wires before removal! If you have someone else do the work, ask them to do the same!
