What Would You Do? CEL

You may have read before that I have been fighting with the CEL for about a year, the code is a evap leak. I called the dealer today and they said about $100.00 to do a evap test without repairs. I have a old High School classmate that has a shop, but he cannot do the evap test (smoke test), but he is going down the road of checking sensors and lines. He figured between $60.00 and $200.00 to check it out and fix it, cost depending on the problem. More if it is a sensor on the fuel tank, so he says. I would like to get this resolved, but Iam not sure what to do, or which route to take. When the CEL light comes on, I can clear it, but it eventually comes back on with the same code. Thanks, Scooby
