Whats legal and whats not?

So first off, I need to know whats legal for my Jeep. I know some of it varys by state, I live in PA.

1. Mirrors. Ive heard two mirror or one mirror, or at least rearview, etc. currently my rearview is all I got, and I broke one of my side mirrors taking it off tonight. I could use them anyways, they are the CJ style mirrors for the TJ, but were rusting out and never stayed in place, and my passenger didnt work at all. so Whats the law on this?

2. Doors. on or off? I have them off right now. I was told that since there is the lip at the bottom where you put your feet, that fits the size that law says it must be, its legal to have the doors off because of that, and because the doors are factory made to be taken on and off. is this correct?

3. Windshield. I have my windshield down as well. It comes that way factory, even with a strap to tie it down to the pads and mount bar on the hood! but is it legal to drive around with it down on public roads?

If there is anything else I am not thinking of to ask that you think I should know, throw it in. Thanks for all the help guys!

1. search for a thread on mirrors and what has to be legal, i know that they are out there but havnt searched for you.
2.It is perfectly legal to have the doors off.
3.I think that if you do have the windshield down you have to wear some type of eye protection (some type of windshield) just compare it to a motorcycle, some bairly have a windshield, if you can call it that, and they are fine.

Ill try to look for that thread on the legality of mirrors from different states

i live in PA too and i talked to the cops and they said rear view mirror is a minimum as long as it provides 120 degrees of vision....i run with my doors off all the time, i dont think there is a big law thing there..&& im pretty sure its illegal to be driving on roads with the windshield down...really wouldnt wanna do that anyway.

All that stuff is legal in PA, and you need at least 1 rearview mirror with the windshield down (I'm the Jeep law guru not really) I carry all the PENNDOT legal documents in my glove box for those stray cops who want to be jacka$$e$

As a motorcycle rider, can I suggest that hitting the bare legal minimum for a mirror is not necessarily the best solution? There are times when it's very useful to be able to see the next lane over.

they sure don't make it easy, do they. I spent a good bit looking thru those pages last night trying to decipher all the mumbo jumbo, confusing stuff. I'm still thinking a lot will have to do with the individual cop how much of a prick he wants to be.

If I don't get replacement mirrors this year yet, I will next and try running without doors to see what happens.

The following line in the vehicle code,

"(b) Other violations.--It is unlawful for any person to do any of the following:
(1) Willfully or intentionally remove (other than for purposes of repair and replacement) or render inoperative, in whole or in part, any item of vehicle equipment which was required to be installed at the time of manufacture or thereafter upon any vehicle"

If the cop would bring this up, I'm afraid I would apologize for removing my rear and side windows and promise to put them back on as soon as I get home (sarcastically of course)
