What's this TJ worth?

I'm looking at this wrangler to buy in southeast missouri. White 1998 5 speed with 69,000 miles. Hard top, best top trektop nx, full doors. Truck lite led fog lights, hid head lights. XRC front bumper, warn rock sliders, custom rear bumper with swing (owner wasn't sure of brand). 2.5 inch rancho lift, 1 inch body, adj. lower control arms, 5 33in km2s on mickey thompson challenger 2 wheels, and jks disconnects. Dana 30/35 3.73s. Bedlined interior. Upgraded stereo with sub, and a cb. I think it was swag off road rear tail gate conversion.I looked at it a few times, no body rust and frame looks just as good. What would be a good price to buy this?

Here are some pictures they sent. The market here varies. Some go cheap and some go for too much in my opinion. This one is clean inside and under the hood. It has no a/c, cruise btw.

Start your offer around $8000 and see what happens

How much are they asking and how much are you willing to pay is the real question.

Looks to be in great condition, are those extras what you would do if it was yours?

I would say $10-$12k is fair, could be more depending on what the owner expects.

The fact remains TJ's are increasing in value and this example has low miles.

Jeep looks good- see what nada or Kelly blue book has for a stock model and see if the extras justify a higher amount- you are the one that has to live with the decision

I agree that $8k is a lot closer to what it's worth than $12.5k. It still has the stock Dana 35 rear with stock gears and a Rancho lift. The wheels and the bumpers might add a little, but I still don't see that jeep being worth any where close to $10k. They're just trying to get back all that they spent on a mixed bag of upgrades and add ons.

$12,500 is way over-priced IMO.

A 1998 Sport with all those mods is more like a $6,000-$8,000 TJ.

Most TJ with under 100k miles clean are around 10k.Miles are a BIG DEAL on price.Always has always will, except for here. Most forum don't believe that?
The mods are worth $$.Especially if your thinking of same mods.
For more h-way and hilly driving the gearing will need changing with the sz. tire on it.Got 2 tops too.Offer 11 see what happens? It will sell for 12 if extra clean all around including underneath. This is northeast price.

Does the owner have receipts and service records?

It is definitely worth $10k if the frame is clean, no accidents, two tops and owner has records.

$11k is a fair offer for both parties IMHO.

10-12k. Don't listen to these lowballers. Even 12k is not crazy high.

Price with vary.. but no more than 8k... you can get a 2003 rubicon with around 100k miles for 12k to 13k so this jeep at 12k is way too much period.

also be sure to see if it has the exhaust manifold crack... they all get up upto the 2000ish model year...

Good looking Jeep. Wouldn't pay over $11,500 for it though.

A Jeep with a lift doesn't necessarily mean it's worth more. It's one of those things where you never know when a part on the lift will go out or how well it was installed.

I'm guilty of buying mine with a lift and within a few hundred miles, my shocks and steering stabalizer were blown, also my springs are going in the same direction. Not saying that the lift on that Jeep is bad but make sure to inspect all components of it to make sure you have a while before have to replace anything.

I want to see this 03+ rubicon for $12k

I just picked up an 04 loaded sport with wheels and tires and some extras plus two tops 79k mi for $13k.

I'm telling you the TJ is worth more and more every day especially now that summer is almost here

That Jeep would do 8500-10k at a dealer only auction (Manheim, Adesa etc)... I agree that Its not a built stud, but it does look like a very clean, solid Wrangler with great miles and a great look. Dealers will pay up for that truck. A beater with a 100k on it will do 6k at the block.

Most people don't realize how strong Wranglers are wholesale. Its not just domestic consumption that keeps them strong, they also export very well which keeps demand strong at the block.

Location is huge on price differences.KY price maybe? If that jeep was 8k in the northeast it would make a good positive flip here.

$12,500, is a little high for that year, but the miles are low. You say the running gear is sound, and there is no rust. Offer $11,500.

I don't know. it's not really, just reading the threads of what not to do and seeing dollar signs flashing before my eyes. Things I love to do to it - but....
