Nope, miles. Kms is just what's on the clock.
I checked. I checked everything to make sure I didn't cockup somewhere. the numbers don't lie...

How many KM's driven on a tank vs. how may gallons to fill back up?

For a complete fillup with 24 miles per gallon you will need to be getting

360 miles per tank (15gallon tank) which is 600 KM per tank
456 miles per tank (19 gallon tank) which is roughly 755 KM per tank.

And I doubt very seriously that you are running it completley empty, and filling exactly the tank capacity back up. You figures are just hard to believe as noone of us get that kind of mielage, and as stated it was not even from the factory that good.

Ok, so here's my reckoning out of my folder where I keep my documents.

14.2 gallons @ $3.79 $53 odd. and it was full, brimming full.
493 kms driven.
493 / 1.604 = 307 MILES.
307 / 14.2 = 21.61 miles per gallon.

works out around 9KM per liter.
Due to not being in my jeep, that is all the calculation I have to hand.

Being relatively new, I had no reason to question it.

Soo... I'm the only one I've seen that gets better in the city than on the highway... I guess that isn't as normal as I thought it was.

Even if Speedo gear wasn't changed, his mileage gone would be lower. If u have a larger tire, u add miles to your total, not subtract and in that case, this dude would b pushing 30 miles a Gallon and I find that impossible . I thought 19 was great, 24 is sick

19 and 24... Jeez. I get between 15 and 16 lol. I have 1998 4.0 5spd with 5 inch lift and 33s so that probably doesnt help...

Its called a scan gauge and you can buy it from amazon.com or advanced auto parts for a decent price. It plugs right into the obd2 and is very easy to use.

The last hwy trip I did mainly 60 mph the whole time I got 17.4 mpg's, but I'm still stock gearing (4:10's) and running 35's. In town I get 12.2-12.6 mpg's.

I have stock everything (want to mod) 09 Sahara manual. 32 inch tires and like 90% around town I am getting 16.1. That's what the computer says at least. Anything I can do to get a few more mpg?

That is correct, but that's all the scribbles I had access to at that point.

I took off the white lightening thing last night and re-spliced the cables to the coolant temp sensor. After about an hours farting around I got rid of the high voltage warning. Now here's the big question, what difference would it make to advance the timing? because all this seems to have done is advance the timing slightly and alter the fuel flow by around .2l/hr.
I did a google search on it last night and what I've read the seller claims amazing things, and the buyers say it's all BS. It's obviously done something, I just hope it hasn't damaged anything else. Has anyone else ever seen/used one of these?
Can't run her until I get a new windshield fitted tomorrow though I've not driven her for 3 days and I'm getting withdrawals......

I would kill to get even 18 mpg with my 4.0 / 5 speed. I have a 4 inch lift with leveling kit, running 33/12.50/15 and get 15 mpg avg. Thats taking it easy on it! How and the hell are some of you guys exceeding 20 mpg

Mines running a little rough atm. just shoved in new plugs and running totals on 5.7 gals without the thinymajig connected is 103 miles or 165Kms for 18.odd MPG.
I cycled my route to work over the weekend, it's 18km, flat (ish) and 80km all the way in.... so is probably more representative of highway driving than town driving.
but for all the arguments about bloody MPG, I sure as hell didn't buy a Jeep for the mileage nor do I really care what I get, because when I install a lift and 33's whatever I get is going right out the window!!!

2003 TJ 4.0, Safari top, 5 spd, 4.5 lift, 1" BL, 4.56 gears, 33's, Cowl CAI, Electric fan, Magnaflow catback, GPS verified speedometer, 107,000 miles on it = 17 mpg combined.

2005 TJ Rubicon Hardtop 4.0, 5 spd, Stone Stock, 31's, 4.11's, 62k on the odometer = 14 mpg combined.

I claculate mileage the old fashion way, fill up write down mileage run it at least to 1/4 tank refill noting miles traveled and gallons to refill do the math equals milage......Everyone wonders why I drive the 03 most of the time.

2005 TJ, 4.0, Auto, Stock w/10.5x31s. I get between 16 and 17.5 mpg.

Interestingly the lower number is with top up but widows open (side panels and rear panel on or off doesn't seem to matter). Higher mpg is with all buttoned up and running AC. (I'm in Florida and we're already in the 90s).

Proof positive that a solid brick gets better milage than one full of holes!

But what's 1 mpg vs riding in an open jeep???

Lol.

And like my build thread has tracked the average miles per gallon, including some test trailing, metro idiot traffic, and just fun hammer-down driving. It'd probably do a little better on a stock rig without the aggressive driving

I'm getting around 11 to 12 if I'm lucky, 2001 Sport, 3 inch body lift, 33in tires. I would love to get up to the 15-17 range. Anyone running the Bosch injectors, thinking about replacing mine with them.
