Wheel & Tire Question

Hey y'all- i've got a stock 04 TJ with 30x9.5's Dunlop Mud Rovers and Chrome rims. i'd like to lift it and get 33's. My rims came with the Jeep, and i'm just wondering can i use my old rims with the 33's? or will i have to buy wider ones to accommodate for a wider tire size? i've seen a company that makes 33x9.5 but i'd like to at least get 10.5 wide. What about 12.5's?

will my current rims be compatible with 33's?

thanks-

I have 37x12.5 tires on my stock rims, i did have to use wheel spacers which I think you will have to use with any tire that wide on the stock rims. Not sure if you can get by with the 10.5's with no wheel spacers. Look at my jeep profile if you want to see pics. The one in the snow are the stock rims.

Are there different size wheel spacers? Or are they all the same?

i believe ur rims are 15x8 which is the best set up for 33x12.5 becuz if u ever need to air down u can and still have enough surface area. im pretty sure jerry might chime in

I'm running the original Jeep Gambler wheels plus 33x10.5 BFG KM1s. The Gamblers are 15x8 with a backspace of 5.25". I noticed after I mounted the new tires that I just rubbed ever so slightly on my front lower control arms during full turn locks. I was able to mitigate the rubbing by adding a washer to my steering stops.

After I installed my dual rate SwayLOC swaybar, my passenger tire rubbed on the SwayLOC's arm. At this time I purchased and installed 1.25" wheel spacers/adapters. This additional piece of hardware converted my 5.25" backspacing to 4" .
