wheel sizing

I have 31.10.50-15 bfg at's on the stock 15 alloy wheel. I wanna get of wheels but was wondering if I should go with 15x8's or 15x10's. ventually i am going to run 33.12.50's so i wanna invest for the future. Also is 3.5 inches of back space accurate for a new wheel? Thanks for the help

I run 15X10 wheels with 33X12.5 tires. They stick out a couple inches but I like that look.

Either a 8" or 10" rim will work. Back Spacing around 3.75 should work just fine.

If you go with that 10" rim, you are going to be popping the bead on the tires a lot. Save yourself the headaches and just get the 15x8's.

I run the 15X8's on 33X12.50 tires and I'm glad that I didn't go with 15X10's. When I air down, I don't worry so much about the bead comming off and I don't get rockrash nearlly as much as someone with the wider rims. If you want to keep your rims looking good, I'd recommend going with the 15X8's

You may also want to check and read what the tire's recommended size rims is as well. many will say 8-10 rims, some will say 10. As for 8" vs 10" and tires coming off the bead with 10"s. I run 10's and have no issues, in fact over the last 12 year's of wheeling various jeeps, I have only lost the bead twice, on a 7" rim and a 8" rim.

I prefer the 8" for 12.5, but you could go either way. As said before, you may not like the 10 rims with 10.5's.
