I have a nice TJ 97 2.5. I bought it last year for $3200, I've spent about $3000 on it fixing exhaust issues, top, winch, tires etc.
I now have a $6200 jeep. I want to get a rear swing away tire carrier and bumper probably $500 or $600. Maybe a stinger on the front....2nd spare gas can and mount..
You see the dilema, when's enough?
does anyone know about thedirtworx swing away. It looks good and is priced right..
I also Bought 97 Tj. I paid 2900.00. I have put complete exhaust from Manifold back, including broken manifold studs and o2 sensors. Next came battery, power steering gear box, headlight assembly, side marker lights, Rugged Ridge HD crossover steering unit, Terra flex adjustable front trac Bar, drop pitman arm, serpentine belt, Zone 4 inch suspension lift, zone 3 inch body lift, exstensive labor in rebuilding rusted out body mounts, Dick Cepek 35 x 12.50 x 15 Mud Country tires, Pro Comp 99 wheels, set of 4.88 gears for dana 30 & 35.
I still have winch and fender flares left to go, which with labor charges will put me close to 7000.
So I feel your Pain LOL.
Don't feel too bad, I have a Jeep and a Mustang. Both of them are vehicles you never get done with. Anything with a huge parts aftermarket is a money pit. Bad thing is, you see 97-98's all day long with lifts, new tires, 44 rear, 5 speed and a 4.0 for around that price. Some even have bumpers and winches. There is always going to be something out there that is faster, bigger and better looking, and when you decide you will never be the best no matter what, you might think about just being satisfied with what you have. Then it will be enough. Wish I could get to that point.
