Where Do You Store Your Small "Essentials"

where do you keep your smaller, but still important things in your tj. my main concern is losing things when top/door is off. where do you keep things like your cell phone, cds, sunscreen, wallet, etc?

i found some small mesh storage nets that mount on the dash or next to gear shift, but i'm not crazy about drilling holes in my interior. i thought about an underseat lockbox, but many of these things are things i might need while driving down the road, and i dont want to mess with trying to open a drawer under my seat while driving.

I mounted a small ammo can right next to my E-brake. Works great and good for security too.

Keep phone and ipod in a cup in the holder. Solo cup sized. Want to make some kinda way to attach it more securely though this summer, suction cup? I haven't even had an issue of it lifting out and flying away though

My wallet and cell phone fit perfect inbetween the e-brake handle and the center console.

I have a small Mole storage bag that fits inbetween the tub and the driver's seat. In it is a Leatherman, digital air pressure guage, extra valve cores, small flashlight, small binoculars, the little wrench for the full door nuts, and an extra pair of gloves. Lots of compartments. Anything really small I don't want to lose while on a trip I toss in there until later. I have had it for years. Works great.

I really like my insta trunk, I will usually put my wallet or phone in there if going to the beach and gets the job done. Sure its not exactly bomb proof but no ordinary thief will be wasting their time on an insta trunk imo.

Tuffy:

- If you do not have the factory sub there is a locking insert for the factory console.

- Tuffy console. Replace the plastic (or add) a full metal console with or without a sub

- Tuffy locking glove box

Underseat drawer (Bestop, Tuffy) Note fitment if you have a fold/tumble drivers seat.

Insta trunk (Jeep, Bestop, Olympic)

I bought the new vdp overhead console, an ivault, and daystar dash panel for small item storage. The phone goes on the ivault shelf, small light items in the overhead console ( the right side is for gloves, knit hats and a light fleece, it gets cold in CO after dark even in summer), and ur happy meal on the dash panel. I have the tuffy console insert for secure storage. I don't consider the ivault secure (faceplate goes in the center console) but the shelf is handy, my phone works through the stereo so my hands are free to concentrate on the happy meal........I mean driving.

all of those look cool. i've thought about the lock boxes, but i would rather have something thats more accessible while driving. it would be nice to find one of these for a TJ JK Straddle. doesn't seem to require any drilling, and could customize with different molle bags

that's all the stuff i have too. also the rear under seat drawer & the door keepers. it's great that everything can be keyed alike, so you have one key that opens everything.
