Where to buy a flowmaster original 40 for wrangler tj?

People are always saying they have gotten a flowmaster original 40 series for their wrangler tjs and not the delta flow or super 40/44s. I like the sound of the original 40 but when i look online it seems to me that they never made one with a center inlet and offset outlet which is what the wrangler tj uses. Can anyone able to clarify on how this is done?

Or a similar (maybe even better) sound for half the price...what I prefer.

Almost positive most of the standard type is a center out. I think your gonna want a center in/ out. Id crawl under mine but its dark out. Im sure mine is offset in. I bogarted it from my co worker, just had to turn it slightly so it would fit.

Just checked, mines offset in center out. Your gonna want center in/ out. Try jegs or summit.

I'll check after class what I need but I know for a fact that they don't have a center inlet offset outlet for original 40 and that is why I'm wondering how so many people claim they have original 40 unless they truly have the delta flow 40 or super40 which I don't like as much

You can always get an offset in like mine and just angle it down slightly on the passenger side. I have the original 40

I'm not all to smart with mechanics on cars just yet haha, what do you mean by angling it down? Hanging the tail pipe Lower or literally angling the muffler downwards at the exit

What i mean is actually turning the muffler slightly when its on the exhaust pipe so its not on a horizontal plane. Turned slightly down on the passenger side it will clear

Does that make it rattle or any less sturdy etc? It's 2.5 inlet and 2.25 outlet right?

When ya install it, keep in mind the clearance needed for the skid plate. When I first welded on my Thrush, the exhaust ended up too close to the skid and it rattled. So my suggestion it to tack weld the muffler into place, then raise the skid plate into position to check clearance...then do the final welds.

True. I really wanted an original 40 but since they didn't make one to fit then I'm going with a super 44 as a 40 delta flow isn't loud enough.

Damn it, I was in this same situation. I wanted an original 40 but ended up buying the super 40 because they didn't have the right fitting one for my tj.
Are you telling me I can seriously use a original 40 series and just flip it?
I will gladly buy a new original 40 series muffler if this will work

Its what i put on mine, i just had to turn it slightly once it was on the head pipe. Its just slightly below the frame.

Do you lose much clearance that way? Or do other things hang lower than the muffler?

I'll take a pic and post it. Right now i have a TC drop and its not any lower than that. There is a place that sells knock off flowmasters called CSI. I think we can get a muffler for like $40. They sound just like a 40.
