Where's the TJ model year differences sticky?

I have the opportunity to buy a very clean 2001 TJ Sport with an automatic. I have a JK and have, sadly, never owned a TJ. I'm looking for model specific issues for the 2001 TJs. I'm sure I've seen posts concerning this but a few searches didn't turn anything up.

I wish it were a sticky.

Can someone post me to the thread that discusses model specific good/bad/issues for the TJ series? Specifically I'm interested in 2001 but I'd like to know what the differences are.

with the 2001 Sport you are getting some good stuff, mainly the improved 4.0L engine that was first installed in the TJ in model year 2000. Since this one is an auto, you would not get the much improved 5-speed manual that also came out in model year 2000. The rest will depend on how many options were ordered with this Sport, I've seen them bare bones all the way to being as optioned out as the Sahara.

There is really nothing "bad" about this model year compared to the other years.

I too have a 2001, 60th Anniversary, with the 4.0 and auto. The 3 speed auto is stout compared to the preceding 4 speed. However, milage suffers.
