Which do you prefer?

At each oil change i like to add a "cleaner" additive, and are down to these two: 1. Sea Foam, 2. Lucas. Which would you choose, or if you have a favorite let me know!!

If you're changing your oil on a regular basis, your engine doesn't need any "cleaner" additive at all. All you're doing by buying extra products like that is wasting your $$$. Don't believe the hype on the bottles, they're just trying to separate your $$$ from your wallet. Really.

When you have a choice, buy American.

I agree 100%!

It could even be detrimental.

Most "cleaners" have an aggressive solvent that kills the lubrication qualities of the oil. Read the can's instructions - most suggest putting it in a few miles before the oil change, not when you put new oil in.

If you change the oil on a regular basis, you don't need anything else added.

To prove to yourself, put some oil on your fingers, then add a few drops of the "cleaner" == Hey where'd the slippery go?
It's no wonder the country is falling apart - stupidity abounds!

cleaners are a waste of money with modern oil and reasonable oil change intervals

Yes, I was in the business of selling you that stuff when you came in for an oil change. How do you think they make money when they advertise 19.95 oil change. Just change the oil AND!!!!!!! filter every 3K and it will last forever. My last three vehicles went over 200k each and never had a engine failure.
