I have a 2004 TJ unlimited with the dana 44 rear and dana 30 in front. I have a 3" body lift with 33" pro comp mt's with stock gearing and it drives fine. I just purchased a 6" suspension lift, sye kit, cv driveshaft, and front/rear high strength axle kits. Im just keeping the stock 27 spline in front and 30 spline in the rear. I will really want to run 37's once I got all those upgrades installed. The question is.... What gear ratio would you recommend? I was told to get a 4.56.. How much would a 4.56 effect me driving around town? Thanks
Either way go with 4.88's... when you think youve made up your mind on a gear set, go one higher just in case as you'll find something you don't like about the 4.56's and complain about having to do it again.
If you dropped that much money on suspension and tires, I would have upped the splines on the axles. Plus 37's, even on a modified D30 are pretty much the limit.
I have an auto. Thanks for the advice. Would you suggest I run with 36's instead of 37's? I really didn't want to change the splines because of cost factor... I only go mudding a couple times a month so I didn't think swaping the front would be worth spending alot of money on it.
Rosster, if you are running Alloys front and rear than with the light duty you are going to put them thru they will hold up just fine with 37's. But like the others said. Go with the 4.88's you won't regret it.

I seen a chart somewhere showing tire size/ gear ratio/ RPM. Can't seem to find it now. I'm trying to decide if 4:11 is right for me, myself. I think that was what I had read for 33's? Can anybody point me at that chart?
