I think my billet inserts were only 35. Search ebay. Prices are all over the place and they basically are the same thing. I forgot the seller I got mine from. Itwas a number of years ago and actually after finding them on ebay, I searched the web and it was a little cheaper from the sellers web site

Hah! That insert is pretty slick.

I should note: my response was geared more towards the OP's links.

I have Drake black billet ones in my black Jeep, they look great imho I've gotten a few compliments on them now. They don't stick out like wwch99tj's do though for some reason, but I like/prefer they are flat, blend in a lil better.

Only on early 97's do you have to reach through the grill...
Every other model year you just reached between the hood and grill

I have this problem. I'm looking for a replacement latch so I don't have to remove an insert everytime I want to open the hood.

Any ideas on what will fit and where to get it?

I think you might've misunderstood. You don't have to cut a hole in an '02 grille guard.

When you pop the side hood latches, the center latch is between the grille and the hood, not in the grille slot.

I have the billet ones that are satin metal in the middle and black around the edges.

You need to learn to multiquote dude, use the button with quote marks and plus. On the last post that you want to quote then hit the quote button.

I had the drake inserts on my JK and I liked them but I dont like the way they sit, almost uneven and out of the grill a little bit. I am going for the billet vertical stripe ones in black fro my TJ. These should provide some protection for the radiator and not change the airflow whatsoever. The plastic ones are just for looks for the most part so I don't see the point.
