Hmm, tough decision. I think you should consider moving the first set you have on there down low to the windshield and keep the new ones on the top of the stinger!! They look great though!

Yeah I bought the jeep from a guy recently and the first owner did all the mods. I mean this thing was loaded with all the Sh*t, Crap, tape down plastic ram air scoop etc. The first owner had the old KC set on top of the hoops and the second driver moved them lower because he said he didn't like the bug eye look. I kind of agreed and left them. I hadn't considered leaving the top ones and mounting the windshield.....damn lol you just made my decision harder. good idea though. Ill have to mock it up before i start running wires.

Which location works better I wonder. ?? I have heard that mounting lights on the windshield like that creates a lot of glare from the hood. I have no idea though. I had some KC Daylighters on my bumper, but they were so dang bright, I hardly ever used them. I swapped them out for some KC Slimlite fogs.

I am with TyJeep. The lower lights look partially blocked by the bumper. I would move those to the windshield.

You could always leave the lower ones, mount those on the bull bar and get another set for windshield.

Lower works better, windshield lights create more glare.

thanks for your input. The ones i just bought are 130 watt long beams... I read some comments on the boards where people had said that the winshield mounted one can cause glare pretty badly so I purchased the long beams hoping to avoid that. The older lights appear to be long beams as well not sure on wattage though. In all actually this set up is way over kill for anything I currently do and was mostly bought for looks. I plan to start wheeling more so maybe they will serve some more practical use down the road.

muhahah...my wife already is giving me the hairy eyeball with all the amazon and Quadratech purchases lol. Although the have been times in the past where I would have loved to have all those sets on at once and singed the neck hairs of some obnoxious drivers in front of me.

Thanks for the comments... I decided to take everyone's advice and mount them like this. I think it looks pretty good this way.
Thanks again for the advice

Well done. If I found this while voting I would have agreed here. The 130 long range work well for me up top.

Looks good like that. I've got pencil beam KC's on the windshield and haven't had any problems with glare off my (dark green) hood.
One other option though.
Rugged Ridge make a fairlead roller with spotlight mounts (just holes actually) - you could tuck the lights under the stinger if you wanted to.

I went through the same kind of choices. I have KC daylighters on the windshield (Dont have glare troubles but only use them occasionally and when night wheeling only). I went with Hella driving lights on the same bumper. Put them in the lower position tho because I took lil yellers idea and used the top holes to mount my hi lift jack. 60" high lift doesnt fit many other places neatly. I only mount it when going out tho.

How did you route the wiring on the windshield lights? They do look real good.
I have the w/s mounting brackets but didn't get the lights yet. Leaning toward KC Daylighters.

Honestly I threw out my back a few days ago so Im in no condition to be crawling around and running wires etc, so I just put them on the brackets for now to see how they looked. When I run the wire to the windshield light ill probably go with the cowl seam tuck for now. Ive seen a lot of nice installs that drill and grommet the cowl, but I'm not going to drill until I'm 100% I like them there and going to keep them.

I have driving lights now, and fogs on back order.....

I have the driving lights on my winch... and fogs will be lower like factory....

Long range are made for the windshield... I wouldn;t put anything else up due to glare as stated.

Got them wired up today. I stuffed the looms under the cowl and they look pretty good.
