Which speedo gear?

Ok Angel got the guys at the dealership to do an injector flush/chemical fuel system treatment today and it did help with the power output (even though it still has to be high in the rpm's) but I think we really need to get the speedo fixed. It's got 31" tires, 3.73 gears, auto tranny and currently has the 36 tooth speedo gear. How do we know which gear we need to replace it? The guy at the dealer said a 36 but there are a few charts online that say a 33, these things ain't free (up to $80 at the dealer) so we don't want to buy several to find the right one. Any help? Thanks again. (she loves that thing even with 13 mpg!)

Here is a good chart...

33 tooth is what will set your speedometer back to correct speed reading.

That is all it will do though. It will not help you gain any power.

Thanks alot for the chart, I know it won't do anything for power but have been told that the speedo being off may change the tranny's shift points slightly. If it'll maybe wait a little longer before hitting OD it will make a big difference. In overdrive it's just too low in rpm's IMO, it's almost idling at 50mph. Just out of curiosity how many rpm's do you guys with auto's turn at 70 mph?
