Which year Rubicon? (transmission question)

Hi all,

This is my first post and I'm really hoping you guys can help me out. I'm in the market for a Rubicon and I understand the only real difference between the '03-'06 series is that Jeep changed the transmissions (auto and manual) in all Wranglers in 2005. Other than that the changes seem pretty superficial.

I know that I want an automatic so I'm really just looking for a comparison of the two automatic options, '04 and earlier vs. '05 and later.

Can you guys tell me the difference b/w the two regarding things like reliability, parts availability, serviceability, torque, mpg etc.?

Thanks in advance!
