Whining noise when giving gas on freeway.

Just want to get a second opinion on this noise. Got a whining noise when I give it gas going on the freeway only and when I let off the gas it goes away.

I'm thinking that it's the ring and pinion which is usually what causes the whining in the rear. But I could be wrong. Could it be anything else or is the RP the reason.

Thanks!

Could be in your tranny. I had mine rebuilt because I grenanded it, (someone has anger issues...lol) and they left a bushing out. It whined in every forward gear but 4th. Someone on here (Or possibly another Jeep forum Q'tec) told me it was probably a missed bushing and that the gears probably weren't meshing correctly. Took it back, told them what I had found online. They looked it over, said it was their mistake, rebuilt again, whine gone. Just a thought.

Yeah I was thinking about it being the tranny since I have a whine when I push in the clutch ( Throwout bearing?) but I just had it serviced and no oil in everything and was just thinking it may have been my rear axle since there is a minor leak even after the tranny shop changed the oil and new diff cover. Thanks for the input will certainly look into to the tranny and see where exactly the whine is coming from.

Thanks
