150??? WOW! I drive everyday 9 miles each way. I did live 3 miles from work for years, when I moved 9 miles away, it seems to take so long to get to work....I guess not.

Live in the country...35 miles to town, 4 of which being backroads. But being on shift(Fire Rescue) only 2-3 days a week. 24 hours on, 48 off :P

2 miles each way for me. If I wasn't so lazy I'd ride my bike.

No way I could ever afford to do a 100-150 daily commute and still drive the Jeep. Mine is only able to be a DD due to a short ride.

Here's some scary math for you. $37 a day at current gas price.
37 x 5 days per week = 185 per week in gas
185/week x 4 weeks a month = 740 a month
185/week x 52 weeks a year = 9620 in gas per year
9620 per year / .75 (equals an average tax rate of 25%) = 12826 in pre tax salary.

120 miles a day five days a week...spending 40.00 a day on gas...Its the reason why I'm shopping for a commuter car and the Jeep will go in the garage...top off forever..... and only come out to play on weekends at the beach !!

Wow, that's more than what I spend each week for three vehicles combined (me, wife, daughter) and its putting us into never go out and do anything mode. Do you have other vehicles in your home that you have to gas up as well?

09 tahoe, that's about 90 a week. It gets to a point that it's no longer depressing. You just kinda accept it and move on.

i JUST did this. i do 65 miles round trip daily. and average 11 mpg.
1300 miles a month is $443 in gas (@3.70ish a gallon)
i get $200 in gas money a month. so it costs me $243 to drive my jeep
1300 miles a month, plus wear on my 35's.
if i get a smaller car with an average of 35 mpg (80% of my drive is highway
with no traffic) AND make a $200 a month car payment, it will cost me $139 a month
to make the same trips.

i love driving my TJ more than any other vehicle ive ever had (6 other jeeps, and
5 various cars/trucks) but the economics have taken a shot at me.

So your doing roughly $275 a week in gas? That's half of my weekly income... You need any help where you work??

Haha oh man i bet i beat all of you...

I drive to different accounts all over the state of nh...my average daily commute is about 130 miles...sometimes as much as 215 miles or (rarely) as few as 80. All in all i drive about 35,000 miles a year.

I spent over $600 on gas last month!

But...i get mileage reibursment from my employer, so that lessens the blow to the wallet sustantially

People at the office think im nuts to drive my "noisey, uncomfortable, gas guzzling jeep" but honestly i wouldnt have it any other way

60 miles/day @ 15mpg @ $4/gal = $16/day

I probably spend $400/month on gas. I'd rather drive it than drive a boring SUV or sedan.

100 miles a day for the last 21 years until last Friday when I got laid off. Now I am saving 18-20 dollars a day collecting unemployment.

I got you beat on the fewest to work. I work 1.6 miles away and I keep telling myself, tomorrow I'm riding the bike. Just don't want to show up as a sweaty vp, nah..I'll just take the Jeep.

Well I'm sorry to say I've got you licked. I work 1/2 of a mile from home, if that, and still have to take the jeep as I need four wheel drive to chase my peregrines.

It's the only way I can justify the jeep with fuel at £1.40 odd a litre over here.

Oh Yeah!!! I have to pass a Krispy Kreme hot donuts on the way to work. Makes me drive faster so I burn more fuel. So there! I have to maintain my svelte 285lbs.

I don't understand the concept of "passing" a Krispy Kreme

Well, only 3 inch lift. I used to drive my '67 CJ5 with 4" lift, 33's, stock Ross steering and stock manual adjust drum brakes @ 80mph.

Have you ever driven an early CJ5?
