Given the vulnerability of everything in a Wrangler, it's not likely that you'll find a bunch of killer sound systems in them, or owners willing to post their stuff on a public forum advertising the whereabouts of such equipment....... just sayin'

I have a 700 Watt Amp in my wrangler, and old crappy speakers that can't handle that kind of power

But my XJ... *will* have an 8 inch sub with its independant amp and another 1000 watt amp for the other four speakers

Best $108 stereo I have heard. $49 speaker box from Pep Boys(2-10" subs, 2-4" mids, 2-1" tweets), $49 600W(2x300W) amp from Wally World, $8 RCA to iPOD cable from Wally World. Trail tunes rock!

My son put in two kicker 10" or 12" in behind the rear seat. the box was a shallow mount and it fit perfectly! He bought it for $20 at a yard sale. The speakers he was planning on putting them in his car. we were running a 1500W amp (I think it was 1500W) Insignia with them.

That damn thing would thump! The whole top flexed like someone was trying to get out.

We've taken it out since then, not my cup of tea or can of beer.

I'm running a CompVT shallow mount now and it provides what I need and more.

He just got through installing two Kicker 15s with Kicker box in his car and is going to purchase another Kicker amp soon. I can hear him coming about a minute before he arrives.

I don't like it, that's waaaaayyyy too much, but he's a teen so he's got to learn on his own.

400W from a Sony amp to 4 Sony 6x9s from a Pioneer head unit. For previously mentioned reasons, I wasnt about to drop too much money on a sound system for a vehicle I leave unlocked (or doorless and topless).

peak power means nothing, the rms rating is what you should go by, you could have a 50000000 peak watt sub but only 50 watt rms.

i have a pioneer headunit with a 7 band eq 50rms watts x4, infinity kappa perfect components in front and rear, infinity kappa 4-way amp pushing 500rms watts set at 700rms at 4 ohms, 12" duel 2 ohm 1500rms watt death penalty from incriminator audio, mb quart dsc 1500.1d 1500rms at 1 ohm set at 1800watt rms, home built ported enclosure tuned at 32hz. 0/1 gauge wire all around, and "the big three" wired with 0/1 gauge wire.

"the big three" is the replacement of the positive battery to alt wire, and the ground from the battery to the block and the battery to the firewall

Replaced all four speakers got a rockford fosgate 300 watt amp and 12 inch sub, an alpine cd-150, A four channel amp with 75watts rms to front and rear, and a satellite radio rounds out the system right now. Planning on adding 4 more speakers pretty soon and upgrading the front and rear amp with 150 watts rms and a cap. It was dimming the lights when I turned the subwoofer up with a 1/0 amp cable wire, so I put in a dual battery system and that seems to take care of it for now.

adding a capacitor doesn't do anything, do "the big three" you can even go on the caraudio.com forum and ask and they will tell you the same thing.

I know peak power doesnt mean anything but most people dont know the rms ratings on theyre stuff... I have 100 watts rms going to each each speaker at 4 ohms and my sub is 400 watts rms at 4 ohms... better? and i also have the "big three" upgrade, I know my stuff haha

O and on a side note dont buy a cap... they dont do anything, upgrade to a better battery (Optima yellow top) or go for a dual battery setup with an isolator in it... just my too cents, you have a nice system though.

I'd avoid the Optima batteries like the plague...from all the reviews I've read, their quality has hit rock bottom over the past few years. They USED to be awesome batteries. Most folks are going with Odyssey batteries or the Sears Diehard Platinum or something like that (which is made by Odyssey).

I may end up putting a small system in my Jeep...I'm working on a design idea integrating a spare tire mount (in place of the back seat) with a large sub box. All said and done, I'll probably end up running 2 10's in it. For now though, everything is stock except my Pioneer headunit.

I use Elemental Designs for all my car audio needs and KnuKonceptz for my wiring products...

Back when I had my truck, I used to have 2 Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 10" subs powered by an eD NINe.2 amp and eD components in the doors...sounded great.

yeah all my wiring is from KnuKonceptz, the first sub i had was a 12" audiobahn immortal whit a Hifonix Hercules amp, and that thing put out a massive amount of sound, i had it for a few months until it got stolen. i could afford a better setup than what i have right now i just don't want to drop 4-5 grand into a system and have it get stolen

I have dual odyssey batteries already, and 3/0 ground strap from the frame to the battery negative cause of my linear and ham radio. I have a 1/0 ground strap from the frame to the engine block, I just need one from the battery positive to the alternator. It looks like I have a number 4 wire on there now.

here are some pics of the big three upgrade, you can see how much shorter the ground wires are, the factory ground to the firewall was close to 4 feet long and the ground to the block was 3 feet long, the new ground to the firewall is 2.5 feet and the one to the block is a little over a foot long, and the wire to the alt is 6 inches shorter.

i just wish that the mean green alt from my cj-5 would fit in my tj.

A+ for effort, but I gotta ask, where is your fuse located?

Stock 2005 Chrysler head unit and speakers. Don't need anything else. I'd rather spend my money on making it more trail-worthy.

ill give you an F on that one, there is no need for a fuse on the upgraded wires, its just a larger gauge wire to allow better flow of power to and from the battery and alternator.

so those wires do not go to the amp, just back and forth between the battery and alternator? where is the wire for the amp located?

I have a relative that works for DEI (Viper Alarms and now Orion) He was an instructor for their tech school and they were always looking for vehicles for students to work on... my 03 Rubicon spent a week there any they installed over 1,000 watts of competition power (not rated but sustained) two 10's, Alpine fronts, mids and separates a sweet DVD flip up. The box the 10's are in is a custom made box that has the JEEP logo embossed and fits between the seat and tailgate. All for the whopping cost of FREE!! And for those who want to know where I live hey no problem it also came with one of their most advance alarm systems they currently offer. It has the option of silent alarm and pages me if anything is going on! It works too just ask the Dumba** at Donovan Correction in San Diego. He'd be the one with the wired jaw! LOL
