I was in the market for a new ride and decided I wanted to get back into a jeep. I wanted a white wrangler.

the next day I was thinking of a client of mine who works at a dealership and that I needed to give him a call. he happened to come in the shop the same day.

I told him I wanted him to start looking for a wrangler for me.... he said we have a WHITE one right now!

I went to look at it the next day and bought it lol

06' with a 4.0 and 37k miles

guess it was just meant to be

I was looking for a retirement toy. Had settled on a Harley but that didn't make the wife too happy. She suggested a jeep - you know, something we could do together, top down, off road, etc. so I went looking and found a 2006 LJ with 37K. Didn't know much about jeeps but price was right so I bought it this past July. It wasn't until I discovered this forum that I found the LJ was a pretty good choice. Only problem now is that the wife says if I keep spending money on the thing I'll have to come out of retirment and get a part-time jeep job.

I've had motorcycles in the past....with the top and doors off, its the closest thing to a bike, but able to have cargo. And the option to drive in any weather when suited up

i have had several different jeeps (YJ's & TJ's).

my current TJ , really found me. i had been looking for a couple months. i wanted a TJ that was an auto & had a/c. those were my only requirements. i was actually on vacation when i had found my TJ online. of course it didn't have everything i was looking for (wasn't an auto), but the jeep had low mileage, a/c & a very long list of modifications. there was another TJ that i was looking at that had 4 times the mileage that my current one had, but it was an auto & it was basically stock. i figured that just for the cost of the auto TJ & the lift, it would have cost me the same price to buy my current TJ from the previous owner.

i actually saved the original owner's ad info:
1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport. 6cyl, with AC. I bought this Jeep new in 1999. I have the original window sticker as well. The Jeep only has 41,000 miles on it. She has been a Trailer Queen for most of her life. She is extremely capable. I will list all of the goodies below. I just installed a new Best Top soft top. the MTR's are full of thread and have barely seen the road. The Jeep is strong and sound. you can go anywhere and do anything INSTANTLY!! Why am i selling..... My Dad has a 2001 that he bought new and he wants to sell. i cant stand seeing it go so i am selling my 99 to buy and build his 01. That is the only reason. i love this jeep and it will be emotional for me to see it go. Jeep is a 5 speed manual transmission.

I bought mine new in '99 but with long term plans in mind. I had wanted a Jeep since I was very young but always thought of a Jeep as having round headlights. When the YJ came out, I knew that is not what I wanted. When the TJ came out, I again began to think about getting one. I needed a daily driver so I went with the Sahara package. I hoped to drive the TJ for 6 years and then let my son drive it when he turned 16. After that, I knew that my daughter would need something to drive. That would take me through 2010 when she graduated high school. That is when I started putting the stuff into my Jeep that I wanted to make it more capable.

Now it has a Dana 44 in back with a locker and 4:56 gears, disk brakes in back, rocker guards, recovery bumpers front and back, 3" lift with 33" tires. The future will see a locked 44 in front, on board air, highline fenders with 35" tires, winch, wife wants a rack for our kayaks. I want it built to be able to drive to Colorado or Moab and take most any trail that I want.

Bought ours just to tool around in as a third car. Wanted something with no top that I cod also use year around. Don't drive it but a few k per year.

Well, I traded for mine because my sports car was having injector problems and I had gotten it in a bad trade with a rebuilt title. So after playing in it I realized I needed something more reliable. Traded my '08 nismo 350z with a rebuilt title for my jeep and cash. Needless to say best trade I ever made. I love my jeep, and the jeep atmosphere.

I found my 2001 jeep wrangler sport in arlington tx, drove 4 hours from ok for it, could not find a good used under 150k wrangler at home. I wanted 4.0 5speed and when i got it , bonus was full doors and hard top and new 31's and only 100k for 9k i thought was a good deal, its ran awesome for 4k thus far! Never knew how awesome it would be to own one until i drove it!

Wanted a second car that could get me home in the snow. Live 11 miles uphill on country roads. walked the last 3-4 miles more than once.
Allergic to practical cars. not many other choices.
Wrangler is as big as a bronco with less usable space than my mustang. Perfect lol
O and I wont buy a car if the top dont drop.

Love the "allergic to practical cars" comment. My sentiments too.

Sold my stang for the Wrangler. Both communities are full of great folks, but the jeepers are more down to earth.

Had to have:
Red, Stock, less than 80k miles, manual tranny, full doors, hard top, local, priced less than $13k.

Bonuses I ended up with:
Upgraded AM/FM/MP3 CD Player. Brand new tires.

Compromises:
Just the color. We really wanted a red TJ but couldn't find one that met all of our requirements (see above). Found this yellow one, and love it even more than Red.

We looked on Craigslist for our Jeep for over 3 months and couldn't find anything that we really liked that met all of our requirements. We decided to try our luck at a local used Jeep dealership and fell for the one we currently have. Yes, it sucked having to pay the sales tax, but for us it was worth it as we got the Jeep we were looking for all along.

Had to be a Rubicon, low miles, hardtop, was my main 3. Price wasnt a factor if it had the extras. Color wasnt a issue, soo I knew I was looking to spend no more than 15k. I searched for over a year, seen 100's well over what I was willing to spend and the rest I would just be spending more in the long run. Kept my eye on one but it was about 3000 over my budget. It sat and sat for three months so I called , the guys told me he had several calls but that was it. So I took a chance and took a road trip, drove it, wheeled it, it was solid and just under 55,000 miles, 6in fabtech lift 35s on beadlocks, all the extras I wanted plus some. I gave him my offer in cash, and drove the bitch home 4 1/2 hrs grinning ear to ear all the way to my front door. Im loving this jeep, it isnt my first but it feels that way.

Went to CO on vacation.

Rented a jeep and went here.


Both the wife and I feel in love with the Jeep and agreed that in one year if we still wanted one, we'd get one.

Ended up with this a little over a year ago. Just finished up the M416 to tow behind it.

We have always had a Jeep. After renting a TJ while on vacation we had to have one. The Rubicons were coming to the show rooms and I wanted one. My wife stopped at a dealership to see one. None there and the salesman told her that she could not afford one. Never went there again.
Found our '01 Sport in the paper. It had low miles, never on dirt, hard top, 4L and air. We drove it home. The Amber Fire Pearl Coat was a real bonus.
It is the best vehicle we have ever had.
I do not think we settled by not getting a Rubi. I think our Tigger was made for us.

Well we needed a vehicle for our 16 year old daughter to drive and I have always wanted a jeep so when we found this beast we bought it and every one said that we were crazy for putting her in it, but after she rear ended two different cars and and getting rear ended by a drunk driver without a scratch or dent everyone said that it was a good choice. Well I bought a TJ because I already owned a CJ, I had a hard time spending the money for a JK for what I was going to put it through and I knew I wouldn't settle for anything less than a Rubicon.

I sold my boat because every weekend was to windy, or i was up against draughts, floods over crowded lakes, blue green algae, etc. one day i woke up and wanted to go fishing had looked forward to it all week and during coffee the weather man said gust as hi as 30 mph today ..... thats it im done if i have to fish off the bank then why have a boat .....Sold in 4 days. Well i needed something to play with on the weekends cant sit on the side lines / bank all the time lol. Anyway, All my freinds were and are buying rangers and gators so like everybody else i walked into my john deere and polaris dealerships as they were having a financing war as i priced one out. The way i wanted it we were talking 19k!!!!!! i went home that night thinken i have lost my mind to be considering this even at 2% financing so i got to thinken about alternatives then i got to thinken about how Back in BC (Before Children) i had a YJ and loved it. This made sense its the convertible i want in summer and the heated cab for hunting in the winter why have i not thought of this sooner....... so a few nights later i ran into a freind at the campground who was saying how much he would like to have a gator this conversation proceded to behoove both of us as we had a few cold ones. well the next day i was the proud owner of his tj (at a 4th of the price of a gator i might add) and he smiled all the way to JD with his down payment. The first day i dropped her top kicked off the doors and reminded myself how much i like to just go for a drive with no worries of algae, wind gusts, etc etc. bonus its never to muddy to get to my fav. fishing hole now lol

I ordered mine from the factory in 1997, just the way I wanted it. I got the options book and spent three weeks with it. I still ponder a few of my choices. For example, I think I should have ordered the winch, and the trunk subwoofer box from Mopar. The Mopar sub box is a very rare option. Original Rare Options really help with re-sell value. Not that I will ever sell my Jeep. Just after thought.

I didn't exactly buy mine. I had a HUGE ford expedition but I've always wanted a jeep. I put a willing to trade ad on Craigslist and someone called and was interested. It's been the best decision I've ever made on a vehicle. I'm in love with my Urban Assault Vehicle

My 97 was busy decomposing in the back of my uncles repair shop with a blown 2.5L. It was the absolute base base base model. Zero options. I did the LS swap, lifted it, full steel doors, new soft top, bought a hardtop, repainted the Jeep and fixed many many other issues but now it's perfect!
