Will 32in tire fit the spare carrier

I searched the forum for this question but I can't find the answer.

Will a 32 in tire fit on the stock spare tire carrier? I'll be using the same rim, just a bigger tire.

Yeah but you will need some longer bolts and spacers of some sort to raise the brake light.

My current tires are 265/70x17 - 31.6x10.4. I have about an inch or so spacer on the brake light. See pic in profile. Maybe you could squeeze it in there.

Thesnufalufagus, Do you have any pic's?

I am getting an "Old Man Emu" 2' lift and your setup will be near what I'm getting.

Thanks for your help.

I have a 33x10.5x15 on the stock carrier now. I raised the light by 1 1/4". Also used hocky pucks cut to shape to add length to the nubbers so the tire stays tight. The picture shows I used metel electrical conduit and longer bolts to raise the light. This was before I extended the nubbers.

i had pro comp at 32's, fit fine on the tire carrier and didn't have to do anything to the brake light or longer bolts.

I had a spare 32x11.5x15 tire on a stock (5.5"BS) 15x7 rim.

Had to raise the 3rd brakelight a bit, also had to remove the rubber bumps on the tailgate.

32 X 11.5 X 15 Hankook's hanging on my carrier. No issues with the carrier, gate, or 3rd brake light.

Yeah, I've got 33x12.5 sitting on a rim with 3.5 backspaceing. Haven't had a problem yet, but I check it just about everytime I get in my jeep. No bolts have loosened up on me yet. I've heard the stories.

You can also just 86 the third brake light. Mine's been in the local dump since 05.

Fit yes,but the extra weight might create issues with the gate over time.

What are the options for the tire carrier if you were to go with a heavier wheel/tire combo? Are there different mounts? and what about if you go with a 35 or bigger?

I tried an adapter (not sure brand) I bought at one of the offroad shops here in Tulsa. I figured I would be ok since I only went up to 32's but wanted the spare the same size. These are on the stock wheels. I started hearing the gate pop (torque) from the additional weight and installed a new bumper with tire carrier.

I've had a 33x12.5 on the stock carrier for over 4 years. The critical thing is to have the rubber bumpers tight on the wheel.
