Will a 305/70/16 tire fit?

Hi guys! I have a quick question. Will 305/70/16 tires fit on my stock 16x8 rubicon wheels? I realize I will need spacers, but will this tire size work with my stock rubicon wheels? Thanks for the help!

you may want to look at the 285/75/16 same height just a little narrower and you may not have the rubbing issues but they should fit ion the rim it suggests a 8-9.5 rim for that size tire at tirerack.com

Do you guys know what kind of wheel spacers I should get? I hear a lot about spidertrax. Also I see a lot of 1.25 and 1.5 measurements. If i'm wanting to run the 305/70/16 on my stock rubicon wheel with a 3.5" lift, how much backspacing would you recommend? Thanks for your help!

A 305/70/16 is equivilent to a 33x12.0x16 tire which is too wide for the factory wheels which have too much backspacing for that wide of a tire. Without spacers, their inside sidewalls will rub on the suspension.

Yea I understand that the tires won't fit on the stock rubicon wheels because of rubbing. But I wanted to know what kind of spacers are the best? Also, how much of a spacer will I need to make this tire fit? Will I need 1.25, 1.5", etc? Thanks for your help!

Your factory wheels have 5.5" of backspacing. With a 12" wide tire, 4.5" of backspacing is enough, so a 1" to 1.25" spacer should be fine. I'd probably go for the 1.25" to be safe.
