Will be doing a FENDER TRIMMING today...

Hey everyone! I have decided that I am going to trim my TJ factory fenders today. I will be doing a write up and "HOW TO" with pictures for anyone who is interested.

I know this has been done a million times before, but its my first real post on here and its for anyone who hasn't seen the other ones.

I did this to mine! Real easy, ill let OP go into more detail but i just took a 2 inch square of cardboard and traced a line with a pencil following bottom of fender then cut with a dremel. Very cool and cheap and easy thing to do! I look forward to seeing yours and how they turn out!!

I took 1" off mine so they look factory, but have the extra clearance.

What did you cut the fenders with? I was lookin into getting the flat style fenders but trimming it up would be cheaper and I could do it myself. Not the real thing but easy and cost efficient!

I used a cut off wheel on my dremel and then used a sanding block to smooth the edges.

I also wired in some side marker lights and mounted them underneath.

Turned out perfect in my opinion...love the look it gives the Jeep.

I have a Sahara would this be possible for me or is my fenders a different material. I would love to do this but finding a replacement of color matching fenders are a bit hard if I mess it up.

Ive seen it done on sahara flares once or twice. Its probably a bit harder since its a denser plastic and would be hard to touch up since its color matched. But what you could do is get on jc whitney and buy some stock flares for really cheap (40-100) and trim those up that way youll have flat ones and your stock sahara ones too! Just an idea but to snswer your question yes its possible because ive seen it but id imagine it be easier on regular plastic ones

I started by taking a trip to Auto Zone to get the edge molding. I also stopped at Walmart to get a dremel which I returned after While I was at Walmart I got some of the blue painters tape, I think you can use whatever tape you want, I just like this stuff.

I did mine a couple years back. I used a jigsaw and it went through it like butter.
I also put molding on it
