will new winch cause sag?

Hey guys, I'm going to be ordering a winch tomorrow! so psyched but it will take a while for it to come at any rate I want to be prepared...I just have stock suspension. No lift of any type. Will the winch cause the front to sag? I have a 70lb front bumper. What do I need to counter the sag?

many thanks!

Let me add though that I can think of two ways to alliviate the winch sag issue... Change your front springs to V8 ZJ springs or do what manny people do and just add some spacers to your current stock springs..

And yet another yes. You could get a coil spring spacer to compensate but I think I'm going to leave mine alone.

This is what they look like:
2" TrueTwo Jeep Coil Spring Spacers - Suspension Lift Kits - Suspension - 4WS.COM

You use spring compressors to install them (you can rent the compressors) There are vids of the "how to" on Youtube.

Not knowing the type of Jeep you have makes this a shot in the dark.

You shouldn't have to touch the alignment if your just going back up to the height it was at before the winch was installed. Just make sure you measure the ride height before and after the winch/mounting plate/fairlead install, then just order spacers to bring you back up to stock height. If the alignment was good before the winch you'll be good to go after the spacer install.

3/4 to 1" front spacer should do the trick.

awesome thanks very much! One more quick question since I got the winch i'm now looking into recovery gear for it. I'm getting a winch damper and a tree saver strap. What about the snatch block though. I saw a video of one and understand how they work but what rating should I get? 8,000 lb rating is enough right? it's a TJ

I just bought a 2005 TJ with a Warn M8000 winch mounted from the dealer. There is a 2" difference in ride ht from the front to rear. I am going to use coil spring spacers to resotre the ht. A snatch block will double your pulling power of your winch but by using it, it will shorten your cable length approx by 1/2. if you get a cable extension that shouldn't be a problem.

your bumper probably sagged you as much as the winch will. so it will just double up. start doing some weight reduction, cut all the sheetmetal starting with the fenders... oh wait were talkin daily driver aren't we

Yes, your gona sag. add stiffer springs, spacers, or reduce weight with a lighter bumper, flat fender replacements such as metal cloack, etc.
