Will these tire fit?

I plan on getting a set of Interco SSR series Super Swamper Radial (http://www.intercotire.com/site34.php). My '03 TJ X pkg is bone stock with the steel 5 spoke 15x7 rims. Will the 31x10.50R15LT 9.0 Tread Width 31.5 O.D. fit under my TJ or will it rub? I was talking to a guy at the Discount Tire Company near me and he said that on the stock rim the tire will hit, but on most aftermarket rim it wont cause of the back spacing.

a 10.5" wide tire will not fit on a 7" wide wheel. You will need new wheels, preferably 15x10. They also need an extra inch of backspacing so that the tires won't rub, because I'm pretty sure that 10.5" wide tires will rub.

The main problem is the fact that the tires are too wide for the skinny wheels.

Wrong. They will fit fine and are probably a better choice than a 10" wide wheel. I actually run 11.5" wide tires on 8" wide wheels. But you are right about needing more backspacing.

I'd highly suggest getting a 15x8 wheel, either steel(for cost reasons) or aluminum with at least 4" of backspacing because of rubbing issues.

A 31" tire will fit on a stock suspension TJ, but you might rub if you disconnect the sway bar up front... so look into bumpstops if you decide to get disconnects.

so then I would need to get something like 15x8 Cragar Soft 8 (http://www.quadratec.com/products/92601_4XX_B_PG.htm) with the 4 backspacing and they would fit fine? That kinda sux just because it adds about $150 to how much this is gonna cost. Best price I found is from Quadratec $147.96 for the rims $623.96 for the tires $109.99 for shipping so $881.91 total. Then I doubt they come mounted and balanced lol so theres more I'd have to spend when I get them. I wish I wasnt so damn broke..... Stupid college tuition....

7" rim will work. Yes it will rub, but you can adj your steering stops a bit. Also most tire pkg's with rims and tires come mounted and balanced.

If I get the 31s and just deal with the rubbing till i get more cash will a BDS 3" suspension lift fix the rubbing or is the rubbing due to back spacing no matter how high you lift it? Also will a 3" lift make 31s look to small? Right now it has Uniroyal Liberator A/T P225/75R15 (they came on the jeep when i got it) and I hate the way they look cause they are so god damn small. Not to mention its a joke that they even call them A/Ts. My budget is super tight cause I'm in college full-time and no job at the moment so what ever I get is what I'm sticken with till it needs to be replaced. I dont want to get 31s then next semester in the fall get a lift and they look to small and wish I had 32s or 33s. Any pictures of a 3" lift with 31" tires?

I'm running SS TSL Radials 33" x 10.5 on stock 15x8 rims.... they do not rub. I have a RE Superflex 3.5 " suspension lift. I'd bet unlifted, you won't rub on 31"s

Awesome tires

I know they would work on 8" wheels, but 7 seems WAY too small.
