winch help

I was told that you know alot about winches. I'm finally convinced to purchase a warn M8000. But maybe you have some insight that might be helpful in finding the right winch. I have a budget that is around max $750 (married you know). I really don't want to spend a lot if I don't have too. I have a 2002 tj and already have the mount on the jeep. I do some wheeling but nothing to outrageous mud mostly and some steep terrain. I have looked at every possiable winch there is. I was consitering a Gorilla winch but was told don't they are pieces of crap. Is this true?

I'm not Jerry, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express last night... LOL

I would recommend either Smittybilt XRC8 winch or the warn. I have the XRC8 winch and was well worth the money of $400 for a winch. 2days afgter having it, out thru a pretty dam good test wheeling at Badlands Offroad park in Indiana. I had to do 2 hard rock pulls and about 4 pulls thru deep, sticky mud and worked like a champ

Ya I kinda like the warn winch. I have a 3.0 smittybult for my atv and it works well for it. I have been told to get a warn winch and I can see why, they have the lifetime warrenty and I like that part very much. But its nice to hear someone has had good luck with the Smittybult model you have. Thanks.

Yes sir I think your right. My wife even telling me get the warn, because you wont be happy if you get something else and it doesn't work right and you get pissed off and spend more money getting the warn anyway. She has a point and I don't agree with her much. LOL
