winch reviews

im looking to buy a winch. im not sure on what kind so im asking for people to place their reviews of winches they have used. i know most of you guys will say go warn, but one con of warn is the price, "you get what you pay for" yeah yeah i know. but id like 100% unbiased opinions and reviews on any winches youve used. lets do 1-10 stars.

10 stars

Warn XD9000i. Used for about 6 years now, with 100s of pulls. Never let me, or someone else, down when it was needed.

I would never buy anything but a Warn, you get what you pay for.

The only time you plan on using the winch is when you got to pull someone out. And yes the Smittybilt is a great occasional use winch but it really wears on the battery and in my '04 it will die on me unless I keep the revs up. Decent winch but not decent when you pull someone out they take off and you stall pulling a second guy up a hill only to find out that your battery is dead. But hey, it was a gift and it has gotten me out of some situations.

How much did you end up getting it for? They are still pretty much cheap everywhere, just not as cheap as they were at Streetside. 514 is the going rate right now.
