Windshield down?

Anybody put their windshield down. I'd like to just for the hell of it, but never have in the 9 years I've owned it and I'm afraid it may not go well or cause an issue.

Just curious what ppl do with it down. I'm afraid it may bounce on the hood even if I tie it down.

I used to wheel with the windshield down with my 73 CJ, but that was easy, only 2 latches and down.

I've tried it for novelty value but there is a reason a windshield is called a wind-shield

Recommend sunglasses and keeping your mouth closed.

Suspect it would make more sense offroading or in a parade.

The first time we folded ours down on our 97 TJ we trashed the drivers side hinge. It was rusted and didnt turn, just sorta peeled the steel itself! But our jeep lived its whole life in Ohio. Just a tip!

I haven't done it in my jeep, but I used to have a 67 Bronco and I put the windshield down a lot when driving in the woods. It's great. The only bad thing is going down old trails, every now and then you'd have to dodge spiders

i will try it someday going slow in a woodsy area, but still a little concerned about getting slapped by a branch...

i never thought the windshield went down for a driving purpose, i thought it was simply a way to make the vehicle flat and stackable for shipment to europe - wwii.

i don't like any windshield/faring on a motobik, but i did quickly learn the hardway that you absolutely need eye protection. a gnat/mosquito almost took me down.
