Windshield fold down

what has to be done to make the windshield fold down on a 2001 TJ?
What I'm wanting to do is take it to the drive in and flop the windshield down for viewing the movie, but put it back together afterwards before leaving.

Figure I'd see what's involved first.
Thanks in advance.

a few bolts (6 i think)

one on each of the hinges, and two on each rollbar part that connects to windshield

-Unbolt it from the top of the roll cage from the windshield
-Remove the wiper arms.
-Fold Windshield down.
-Remove the top spreader bars from the roll bar (they have one bolt per side).

chances are it will be difficult to fold down because of rust in the hinges. soaking with pb blaster should help. also check your local laws to see if there are any safety requirements, like wearing safety glasses.

Yep. Heres my right up. It takes a little long to do just for a movie I think but would be awesome!

Take the windshield wipers of by folding them back off the windshield (towards you) Then fold the tabs on the back away from the wiper and slide the bar down, and you can slide them off.

Then I like to take the bolts on the windshield frame off next they are T40's and they should be black, maybe painted with the body and are extruding (not flush like the others around it). Then take the two T40 bolts off each rollbar connecting to the windshield frame. Then make sure the rollbar is clear of the plastic channel for the door and push the windshield down. It should be fairly easy. And make sure and clean the gasket off so next time itll seal nicely everytime. Then pull the padding off the rollbars away from the two T40 torx bolts on the other end of the rollbars and take them off. There its down! Take a heavy duty zip tie or if you have the stock strap and strap it down. You can remove the rearview and visors as well. I just permanantly took off the visors they dont block anything lol.
