Windshield Hinge Delete

My hinges on my TJ are rusted out and are POS status. Therefore I need to replace them and since I never have or will plan to fold down the windshield. My question is are there brackets available that would allow me not to have hinges at all?

Good question. Can't say as I've ever seen them, but I'd use them instead of stripping/painting mine. Do they exist? Anyone?

You should try dropping the Windshield once before you get rid of them. It's a Trip !

I did drop the windshield just this past month (august). It was a lot of fun but I am still on board with deleting the hinge.

I just have to get a welding tool.

I'm partial to having the ability to fold the windshield down; I like having the option. But with that being said, it actually would probably be safer and more sturdy to just have a solid joint there. Never seen them for sale, but perhaps a fabrication shop can fab something up for you?

I think having the factory hinges allows the assembly to flex a little and if you have fixed mounts it may cause the frame to twist too much and cause the windshield to stress crack.

I would be concerned about install. can you swap the hinge with the windshield in place or would you need to fold it down. Could the gaskets not seat properly if you tried dropping it in place with the new brackets instead of folding it up?
