Windshield light mounts

So I recently bought a pair of mounts for my windshield lights when I pulled the screws out and tried to install my mounts the torx screws appeared to be too small... Might be a dumb question but was I supposed to get longer screws with the mounts? Or should they have just fit with the stock ones???

That depends on the brackets. Some come with new hardware, some don't. If they didn't come with hardware, I would just run to the hardware store to pick up some new non-torx bolts if the ones you have are too short.

Working on this myself a couple of mine were a real pain to get out actually had to weld a new hex head bolt to the torx head to get the one out. I am gonna replace mine with stainless steel hex head bolts

Thats what came with my KC brackets. As well as a flat washer and lock washer for each bolt.
