Winter projects to do list

Tying to gather some info on what everybody plans to do with winter coming soon. Mods, tires, lifts, etc. I'm at a standstill myself and am looking for things to do. Please post as many pics as possible

Its for my JK but I have many things planned, just not enough time. Working 42 1/2 hrs wk and going to school 30+ hrs/wk so come the weekend i do laundry, sleep, and see my family. Plans for me are wiring up a blue sea switch block, splicing in quick connects to all my power windows and doors, mounting my new bumper, buying a winch, cutting my flares (finally decided to give it a go), fabing something up for my jerry can, fabing something for better fit of third brake light "eyes" in my spare, hooking up some new waterproof leds in my fogs, and other things I havent thought up yet

You should go with 4.88's instead of 4.56 if you're going to be going with 35's...

As for me, i wont do much of anything...i generally just maintain it during winter and then mod after the snow is gone.

Me? MC rear aluminum LJ full corner guards, GENRIGHT roll cage upgrade...........possibly a RIPP SC kit.........if I have the extra funds laying around.......if not maybe Currie's HD steering kit.........not much else really left to do with my rig......its already loaded with nearly every imaginable upgrade to run 33's and 35's.

Depending on funds:
My stock cd player died a couple years ago from dirt ingestion. I want a digital media receiver for it. No cd player, just radio, usb and ipod inputs.
Chromo D30 shafts for the front. I've been pushing my luck for awhile.
Some sort of alum rear corners with flares.
12-14" led light bar up front.

Free:
Already swapped 1/2 doors and Safari Top for full doors and soft top.
Thinking about plopping the hard top on this year. Hasn't been on in 3.

Springs, shocks, control arm bushings, ZJ tie rod upgrade, tires may be good until spring but if not, those too.

Replace what's left of my original Skyjacker lift (springs and shocks) with OME springs and shocks, then if I can come up with the extra $'s, a locker and chrome molly's for the front axle.

then just saving for a full set of adjustable arms from MC.

and upgrading anything that breaks the next 5 months of desert season

I might buy the metal cloak fenders this winter. I'm having a hard time trying to find a buyer for my stock inner and outer fenders so we will see

TJ Dave: I replaced stock stereo with a Kenwood HD unit from Best Buy for $89 online. It has USB and iPod/iPhone docking ports. Also with a CD and detachable face. I was amazed how cheap these units have become. I love the HD stereo on the FM stations.

Winter mods are maintenance issues. New radiator, water pump, etc and then I'll tackle the 2" OME lift and warn winch.

I will be doing rocker guards, rear LEDs, BB, shocks, 8.8 (w/front regear), Chromo front shafts, if my wife doesn't leave me from all of this then a full set of MC control arms. That way I'll be ready for 35's this spring.

it sounds great when it works. My last experience with the HD it was more annoying because the stations would go in and out.

So far I haven't had that problem of the HD fading in and out. Maybe we have stronger FM stations where I live. But I agree that the sound is awesome when the HD and digital aspects kick in. Well worth it for the money IMHO.

I have plans to put a lift kit in, thinking of going with the zone 4.25" combo lift w/nitro, then getting some body armor and upgrading the tai lights to LED units. Looking at tube fenders but not sold on that look yet.

Haven't decided yet. I've got 3 weeks in between semesters, so that's the only time I can take it down if I need to. Otherwise, anything I do it has to stay drive able.

Not nearly as involved as everyone else seems to be due to funds/time (college student)
But the things I'd like to get done are

Fix antenna
Replace all fluids
1.25" bl
Winch
Hid headlights

Maybe add some Krylon Fusion paint on your list for your fender flares.

Just a thought. Great looking Golden Eagle edition you have there.
