winter tires

Just bought a 2005 sport last week. The tires need replaced (BTW 31 10.5 15 with no rubbing on stock suspension). I was going to put a 2" BB and 1" BL and put some 33" mud terrain tires on an get it looking nice. I just found out that mud terrain tires are not that good in snow and ice. Thats what winters in Pittsburgh throw at you. My kids will be driving the jeep so I need something safe in the winters.

I am thinking of putting winter tires on these rims and just buying new rims and tires for the summer. Any suggestions on winter/all season tires? I not sure what sizes would work. (I am used to the sizes given like 225/75 15).

The current tires are BFG All terrain.

Duratracs, and if you join Tread Lightly - Home I think you can still get the $100 rebate on them. They're a M+S all terrain tire... Look great, and perform well in all conditions..

x2 on the Duratracs. They are winter rated would be a great tire for your new jeep.

If these are too aggressive for you and you want something that will last a little longer the Wrangler Silent Armors are also winter rated an would be a great choice as well. I've seen these go through some nasty stuff here in AZ and they practically begged for more.

General grabber a/t2... 105 a piece on tire rack. Siped not smooth all terrain. Theyre just as good as the bfg's but about 50 bucks less a piece.
