Wiper arm help

Before I bought new wipers, my drivers side wiper blade was not sticking to the windshield and causing mass streaking when using it. So I tightened the screw and bought new wipers. Love the new wipers, except I'm having the same problem as before. Not real bad but enough that it's noticeable. Any advice on what I can do with it? My passenger wiper clears my window perfectly, knock on wood, but my drivers side

Thanx to all

How does an arm get bent? And am I destined to just replacing it? Or is there another way to fix it?

Arms can get bent in a variety of ways, but the most common is trying to push heavy wet snow off without using a scraper first.

Take the arm off of the Jeep and "GENTLY" bend it back into shape. It shouldn't have any bend in it, since we have a flat windshield surface. If the arm is straight, your tension spring is worn and not holding enough tension on the arm, which will not keep the blade down on the windshield surface.

In all honesty, it may be easier to just replace the wiper arm, or swap it over to the passenger side to make sure that it is truly the problem. My son always tells me that seeing what is going to crash into us isn't as important for the passenger anyway

Thank you! Usually when it snows, I more often than not have the wipers up, which now may have been the issue. Alright, so when this latest snowstorm goes away, I'll switch the arms and see if it helps. Thank you .

I had the exact same problem with my jeep. I simply bent the middle of the wiper are 'toward' the windshield and now they work great!
