its brand new? you have had it less then 30 days you said......man i would be all over that dealer! no way would i let those problems be on a brand new vehicle. and i for sure wouldnt be in a taurus! you should be in a jeep while yours is in for repairs!

damn straight

I hear ya on that. When I owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee it had to go into the shop. The dealership gave me a Dodge Neon or something like that. Man that thing is great at drifting and it was an automatic lol.

Tell them it was a dirt road, during that rain storm we just got. Do NOT admit to driving offroad, if all you hit was a mud puddle. Good luck though man, I have had nothing bad HORRIBLE experiences with Jeep dealers and warranty in Maryland. Enough so, that I am never buying a newer Jeep ever again. Older one for trail only, abseloutly, but never one anywhere near warranty anymore

On the plus side, if your worst day ever is that your Jeep won't start for the 3rd time in a month, life aint suckin too bad. The Jeep is still sitting on all 4 tires right? Not upside down at the bottom of a hill, ravine, or worse some river!? All you had to do was take it back to the dealer right? No trip to the hospital or funeral home right?

I'm not trying to be snide, just trying to say it could ALWAYS be worse!

mmmmmm...Maybe you should have checked it and the dealership out before you bought it. Just because it's on a dealer lot doesn't make it "like new". Just another perspective.

Here is also something to keep in mind when you buy used...Many people trade in their vehicles when they know things are about to go south on them and they don't want to spend the money to fix them. Also, a lot of people do not know how to properly maintain their vehicles. They may go a year without an oil change, etc. And guess who has to deal with someone else's poor maintenance habits...YOU when you buy it used. Always have it checked by a mechanic to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. The dealer may say that used cars are sold as is but many will work with you to fix existing problems.

I bought mine from a Lt. Col at Edwards AFB. If there were any problems with it that he didn't disclose, the mechanic would have found them upon inspection. I also had his direct boss's number in case he was pulling my chain on anything.

Everything was as indicated and showed some problems I knew about already (manifold, top, etc). Military doesn't like its troops and leaders to be dishonest to the citizens they're protecting, esp at Edwards (this LtC was head of a UCAV squadron and relocating elsewhere).

BEST used car purchase I made.

Our dealer Is pretty good. Never gave me or my brother any problems at all on replacing stuff even when he knew we beat them a little to hard(broken Axle). He asked my brother one time if he had it off-road. My brother replied damn right isn't that why jeep has a trail rated badge on it.

Atleast when it is fixed you should not have the same problems with it, i mean alt or starter if they put a good reman on it should last a couple of years at least.

Let me start by saying that I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I really hope the dealership makes it right. I've been in your shoes before with a dealership and I got screwed. ($2k transmission rebuild)

I understand that you're frustrated over this but for the love of God, learn to use punctuation when you type.

Hope everything works out to your favor.

There as bad as we are on prices, Man make some noise and cry like a baby to the service manager and if that does not work talk to your salesman they should be able to give you at the least Repair shop price, like 25% off list.

$400.00 is alot but even GM starters are around 2-5 hundred but sometimes we can give a break. Just ask.
