Would you buy a used Wrangler with half doors?

I'm Jeep shopping and found a 2005 Wrangler X with 21K miles. It's auto, 4WD, Soft top, with half doors for $13,900. That's the advertised price so I'm sure I could get it cheaper. I've never owned a Jeep but I don't see myself liking the half doors while using the Jeep on the highway to commute. I'm sure I would love them the rest of the time because they look great with the half doors and the top off. This will be my daily driver, and I mean that literally. I love to drive and put a lot of miles on my vehicles (I have a 2007 Impala with 52,000 miles). I love the Jeep (dark blue with black top) and it's in great shape. I don't have a clue what full doors would cost or where to get them. Thanks.

Most definitely soft upper doors are going to be louder on the highway than full hard doors. Before my door opening got too f'd up to have anything on there I was going to put some stock half doors on just to keep the rocks out.

Sounds like you want the best of both worlds when the top is on and off. You can usually find full doors for around 700 to 900. I wouldn't pay more than that for them.

Yes.

I did. I love it. Almost NEVER have the top of the doors installed, even when it rains. But this is not my daily driver and I am pretty anti-social so the added wind noise eliminates distracting conversation from pesky passengers.

I have always had full doors on my Jeeps. I like the roll up windows. That being said, we did have a set of half doors for one of the jeeps. Used them a few times. You can buy a set online used maybe, ebay, craiglist etc. just risk the paint not matching 100% but for the right deal on the Jeep I would consider taking the risk.

Having had both. I would say get the jeep. It isn't going to be all that bad with the half doors, but it is very nice to have both. Look for a set of full steel doors like 1BLKJP said.

If you want solid doors, buy a car. Half doors are all I will ever have on my Heep!

4.0L? Nice color but personally I like hardtops and full doors.

What's all of this nonsense about doors? Mine are completely off the majority of the time!

I'm pulling my full doors and putting on half doors. I don't have winter though, so I'm good topless all year round!

There are pros and cons to both full and half doors. I think you should buy it with half doors, and drive it with them for a while. If you're one who doesn't like road/wind noise, it will just make you appreciate your full door purchase when you make it. If you can, hang on to those half doors after getting your fulls. They both serve a positive purpose.

Go with half doors. Leave the upper half on when you're doing Hwy duty for better wind protection or when the top is on in rain. Simply pull them out and stick them in the back when you're in town or on the trail in the sun. I love my half doors. Only way to go on a TJ.

If you like to go topless then go for the half.
I have full but I'm looking to get a set of half for spring & summer.

I just bought my first Jeep, a '97, and it came with half doors... so yeah I would.

They're a bit noisy on the highway, but the speakers get above the noise.

(And all the friends think its amazing that my windows have zippers.)
