Yeah, I don't get it. The vast majority "ruined" it for a much smaller minority, from what I read? I love the entitlement attitudes of [some] people with kids. "We have kids, so everywhere we go should be good, clean family fun!" :flipoff::blunt::drinks:
Not entirely accurate the skinny of it is it was supposed to be a hey take your top off your jeep and enjoy a day at the beach. What it was was a lawless beer fest in a public place. I expect a certain level of composer in public places and that was not happening there. We were a couple of miles down the beach away from the shinnanigans and when it started getting to a point to where my 9 year old son didn't have any business being there we packed up and left no complaints. What was happening was a obvious blind eye from law enforcement. They were allowing drinking and driving and non street legal vehicles to drive up and down the beach along with dangerous driving in highly crowded areas. I'm not complaining at all when I got uncomfortable I left and went else where. Just my 2 cents.
As far as I am concerned, trashing a beach is not adult fun. It is being an a$$hole. I don't care if you own a jeep or an FJ, clean up after yourselves.
As a guy who drinks his share of adult beverages, I gotta say there's an element of irresponsible types who just don't care if they ruin it for others by their excessive drinking. I've seen it way too many times and they're only interested in impressing their buddies on just how stupid, obscene, and crude they can be. Hold my beer and watch this Billie Bob!
I love that the last post says he doesn't go when the "Redneck" crowd is there... I have found in general the "Redneck" crowd to be usually very respectful and family oriented...Yes I admit, I am a redneck... :drinks: Unfortunately all crowds can get a little out of hand when all day alcohol is the main event...
I am all for tearing it up,spinning tires and showing off and THEN drinking yourself stupid while checking out others rigs and telling stories but that means either have a camp out or get your wife to have a turn and drive home, hell if only the guy driving drunk got hurt I wouldn't care, but its always a poor kid or family that dies never seems to be the booze bag responsible.
