I have a set of the 31x10.5s They are pretty nice in my opinion, they do have a slight road hum to them as they are a little bit of an aggressive a/t tire.

I was in the situation of most people and couldn't decide between the duratracs or authorities, im happy with mine but for an extra 7$ a tire i could have had duratracs with kevlar sidewalls and all that stuff.

Good tire in my book though, 5000-6000 miles on them and tread hasn't budged much.

I paid $135 each for my 31" But that was 12/2010 Some road noise. Have about 12K on them. Still a good 80% on them.

Good news for you.. The duratracs don't have any kind of kevlar in there sidewall like the MTR-K.. There sidewalls are actually weak unlike GY's "MT"..

On a Authority AT note.. Always have been amused by this tire.. I think I like it in the way I like the duratracs.. Of course the duratrac is available in more sizes.. An observation has been that those who run this tire on something lighter like Jeeps are happy with them for what they are while heavier vehchiles like 1/2 ton trucks or heavier have not been as happy with noticable quick wear and chunking.

I've seen the same thing. I love my duratracs but my buddy that has them on his 2500 Duramax hates them and they have worn stupid fast.

Had them on my last Jeep, and put them on my current Jeep. I think they are the best all around tire I have ever ran in 35+ years of driving!

The road noise is no worse than any other AT I've ran. They are GREAT in snow, and never had a problem off road. When I bought mine last fall, as a special free lifetime balance and rotation. I bought 5 (Went to 265's from 245's), they will only balance and rotate the 4 on the ground, so after rotation I swap out the spare.

I don't think you will go wrong buying a set of these.

They should not have put the authority's on a dura max. There should never be anything under a 10 ply tire on a diesel. With the weight of the truck and the load rating of the tire it is u safe.

They make the duratracs in E load ratings in larger wheel sizes with 10plys. Plenty safe, wore really fast on a heavy truck. My point is, they are well suited for jeeps as they are light and come in C load ratings.

I knew they made the duratracs in a 10 ply. My point was they don't make a 10 ply authority. Long story short I like them never had them on anything but my jeep. I don't do any hard core off reading. If I did I might go with something with a little heavier side wall. For the money they are well worth it in my opinion

Ah, apologies. In my original comment I said he had duratracs on the Duramax, not authorities. No worries
