Wrangler LJ Unlimited

Now, I know I'm "The YJGuy", but I've come to the conclusiong that after my stint in the Army, I'm going to buy an LJ.

I almost bought a Bronco! I wanna stay true to The Jeep Thing.

Is there any suggestions or things to check on an LJ before I buy it?

It will be the I6 with the 6-speed, hopefully in Electric Lime Green. It will also get the Rubicon Express 3.5" Super Flex Lift with 33s, probably Goodyear MT/Rs or Cooper STTs

So many mods planned for the upcoming YJ:
4.6ltr stroker
Dana44s
3.5" lift kit
33" General Grabbers
Massey Ferguason Grey body
Kubota Orange suspension components
lots more...

no. just go for it.

the longer driveshafts are nice when it comes to lifts and you get a D44 with 3.73's factory. do it.

what year you plan on getting? i have an '04 w/automatic and was worried since it was the first year of that model but have had zero issues with it. the extra long wheelbase is useful for wheeling but it's still small enough to go where other wranglers go.

The only downside I see so far is when you lift it and put on larger tires it doesn't look as tall as it's TJ cousins with the same lift due to it's extra length. No biggie.

I cant freakin wait! My friend Andrew comes back from basic training tomorrow and he bought an 06 Unlimited in Canary Yellow with the 6-speed! Its gonna be so much fun!

I really like the Unlimited. I was going to buy one 2 years ago but my finances were miserable, so I settled for the beater YJ

I've got an '04 Unlimited and have had a blast with it. Even with a short arm lift, lockers, 4:56 gears and 33's take me pretty much where I want to go.
