wrangler performance/fuel mileage.

I have a '98 2.5 and I was wondering if there was anything i could do to help fuel mileage and performance. I'm sure everyone else has noticed that it's not much of a highway sports car , but it's not supposed to be either haha.
Thanks!

Basic simple answer is no...

Keep it stock and drive it easy...that'll be the best way to get the most mpg. I've got a 99 2.5 and my first tank i avg'd 19 mpg and got the same with a drop in KN filter. I'm putting a new muffler on but only to improve the flow paired with the filter. You should be cautious of doin the filter though cause if you do a lot of off-roading, you'll let a lot more crap into the motor.

If you wanna maintain what you're currently getting, dont lift it or put larger tires on cause that'll drop it pretty quick. I'll be putting on a 2" lift with 31's pretty soon so i'll let you know what happens haha

I have 31x10.50's on it now. I dont plan on going much larger. Maybe 32x12.5 if I feel adventurous.

I'm running 31's on a stock TJ and I'm averaging 14-17 city and 17-19 highway driving like a normal person...not too much different from stock I'd imagine.

I bet if you dropped an LS1 in it, it would probably get better mileage, and perform better...Probably run you 10k for the swap.
