If you're going to do a big build or wheel it hard don't buy one with a Dana 35 rear axle. Had I known how weak they were I wouldn't have gotten the jeep I did. I bought then learned. Do it the other way since you have the chance

Got your eye on any specific jeep yet?

05-06 LJ's come with rear 44's and you will have a blast. Good people and great wheeling.

I second everyone saying you will have a lot of fun! I got one almost two weeks ago and have loved every minute of it. My 18 month old daughter also loves it and likes to ride in it with me.

It get's expensive, but just take it slow and keep an eye on CL for good used parts. Beats the high price tags on new stuff sometimes.

ANDY take it from me, a recent (July 2012) first-time Wrangler owner, you will have a huge grin on your face every time you are out and about with the top off, the dog in the back, and the sun shining......and the on-lookers are all jealous.

That blue Sport looks great.

Let's see...You struggle with the top for the first time, carry all the windows inside the house, jump into your topless Jeep and start down the road only to get waved at by a complete stranger driving another Jeep. The sun on your face, the wind in your hair. It's when you realize how lucky you are to own one and how special it makes you feel. It's a beautiful feeling.

You won't look back. Same as a previous poster I would suggest you try and find an LJ. The extra space is really woth the extra effort in finding one. The crystal blue pearl is very pretty though.

Love the blue you are looking at. I have owned mine for two weeks now, but still going through it, so I haven't put her on the road yet. I can't wait!!!! Good luck.

We just agreed on a price so it looks like it's going to be mine. I have a sweet black lab who loves to ride in the boat. She is going to be in heaven!

X2 on an LJ. All are 4.0L and D44 rear. Or you can get a LJ Rubicon, which is the perfect jeep.

Although an 05-06 LJ sounds good, it would cost me about 4K more than I am getting this 03 Sport for. It is not going to be a daily driver so I am trying to keep it fairly cheap. And I am now addicted to this color!

The first time you drive it without the doors & top, you'll never want to put the doors & top back on!

Welcome to the party
and always remember, when if comes to mods:
Just
Empty
Every
Pocket

I like that blue color!
And, the D44 axle was an option on the Sport, so take a look, you might have one under there!

My yellow lab has never been fond of cars (oddly). He doesn't hate them, but has only tolerated car rides. Until I got my '05 Sport...now he doesn't hesitate to hop right in. Of course, at 8 years old, he's also the reason I won't be lifting anytime soon. I'm in FL, so no hills/ravines/big rocks, so a lift also isn't necessary.
