Wrangler TJ bucking

Bought my 2000 Wrangler last April. It recently started a weird trend of bucking and rough idling for the first 10-15 minutes of driving. Usually happens after I haven't driven overnight or for a few hours. While driving, regardless of speed, the tack will jump about 1000-1500 RPMs higher than it should be. It only lasts a second and then will return to normal. This may happen every 10-20 seconds, however. At a stop sign, the engine will hesitate for about a second after hitting the gas before picking up. And if I'm at a red light and idling, the RPMs will fluctuate between 0 and 1000 every few seconds before returning to normal. Twice in the past week the engine has completely shut off at a red light which is new. All of these problems seem to occur for only the first 10-15 minutes of driving, after which time everything seems normal for the rest of the drive.

It's an automatic, and I had the ignition checked and fuel pump replaced in the first month after purchase because the Jeep wouldn't start on the first (and sometimes second or third) try. Completely solved the starting problem. but a few months later is when all of the above problems started occurring. Don't know if they're related, but figured it couldn't hurt to mention.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

I am going to hazard a guess at a temp sensor. You say it drives fine after 10-15 minutes? Is fine whenever you stop unless you let it cool off?

First thing,,, how many miles and how long since a tune up?????I am going to say the first thing I would try is to remove and clean the IAC(Idle air control) It is easy and cheap to start with if it does not fix it then you are out nothing and can move on the the plugs then the TPS.Is the CEL on??? If so have you checked the codes???
I like for it to shine even thought it is muddy most of the time!
