So, earlier in January my 12 y.o. comes about with an excited "dad! dad! in the new callofduty there are guys in nuketown with the coolest black Jeep why don't we get one"
call of duty? nuketown? whaaaaat?????
So he shows me a distressed matte black topless JK featured in the game.
And I discover "the" game... rather cool I must admit. Had to take on myself not to grab a pad a start shooting those ****** running all over the place.
Took a close look at the "factory" Call of Duty Wrangler at the local dealer and found it a bit corny..
Searched the net for matte black paint jobs and discovered vinyl technology. Decided to give it a try at home to surprise an "unsurprisable" pre-teen. Now that's a challenge for someone with no car body work experience...
To wrap it up: after about 50 hours of trial and errors, the TJ rolled out of the garage in it's new matte black livery with Black Ops II decals
And I got my little personal victory: a really impressed teenager
The before..... and... ....after
The Black Ops II TJ
All that for about $150 of generic matte black vinyl, a heat gun and an unaccountable number of beer cans..
