She's actually not all that bad about scratching it up she has fairly short nails (thank god with all of her jumping she does).

When u ponder weather or not it would b a good idea to line-X the entire thing and realize that functionality comes second to how bad a$$ it would look lifted and covered in bed lining

Same problem I have with my area. I have two scratches that are starting to rust I'm gonna fix.
