Mine is weird like that too, the light comes on when there is still about 5-7 gallons left. I know as long as I leave my house towards my college campus (roughly 30 miles) before the light comes on, I can make it. the most I have ever had to put in her was about 18 gallons, never had her completely empty.

Yea my college is about 50 miles away and as long as I have a quarter tank I can make it. Even when the gas tank is completely empty I haven't gotten more than 15.8 gallons

I was close to running out and put 19.6 gallons in it. That was scary, but I watch my mpg and mileage very closely and knew I was getting very close to "E".

You know you drive a TJ when you have no top on or doors and you take the long way home to enjoy the evening wind

Yep. Should have a 19 gallon tank. I know my light comes on with just over 5 gallons left. At 10mpg which is just shy of what I get(when i dont buy 100%), I have 50miles left. Never ran it empty but I'm sure I've put 18ish in it.

Today I drove mine fishing, then went to my favorite kayaking spot and moved some annoying logs, and made an opening in the woods for me to hide her while I'm on the water.

I'm happy, she got dirty, so she's happy.

All out tjs have a 19 gal tank. But no one ever know cause the empty sensor it to high in the tank. Most I've filled her up is at 16.5. Just know that when its full u have 19x your mpg to go.

Haven't added in a while...
When you keep a pack of baby wipes in the door and clean a section of interior plastic at each red light throughout the week.

You know you drive a TJ when every topic on this forum somehow gets steered towards mileage, jk hating, or plasti dip.

And I'm just as guilty as everyone else lol

You know you drive a TJ when you know exactly how many miles you have from full to empty, because like me, your fuel gage probably doesn't work anyway, and if you forgot to reset your trip odometer when you filled up three days ago, you top off before you drive across town... Just in case.

When your brother in-law says he wants a JKUR because it looks badass, like a hummer, and you give him the death look and shake your head!

I just put in like 5.6 cause that's what $25 got me. The most I've put in though is 18.7 and that was driving with the gas light on for like two days

It turned out to not be so bad, just wet seats basically. And it was 85 the other day but today it randomly poured, tomorrow it's gonna be cloudy but warm here in Austin, TX. ...Texas is bipolar!!
