When you go to the gas station so often you are on a first name basis with the man inside

You drive over a curb, because you don't feel like backing out of a parking spot.

ha ha.... I have the 6 spd stick so I can relate to this one. That reverse is a bitchy gear. Sometimes I would rather just roll over something than even bother trying to put it in reverse.

I've done that in my 5 speed. The damn shift boot isn't on right and it is hard to put in reverse sometimes. But I still get weird looks all the time

When you go out to the garage multiple times over the weekend just to look at it or tinker around on it

I've been blessed with the 3-speed auto. So it just violently clunks into reverse

No s#!t dude. I just want to slouch down and hide every time it grinds a bit trying to put it in reverse or when I can't get it to go into gear. Every car that I have owned in the past 18 years has been a stick. My old Ranger spoiled me. It shifted so smooth I could work through all five gears without the passenger even feeling it and I don't remember EVER grinding it.

I was kind of worried about the Jeep because of it until I talked to my cousin. She has an '05 with a six speed and when I started telling her about it she just grinned and said "learn to live with it, it's how they are".... but that doesn't help me when I am in a parking lot full of people and have to fight with the damn tranny.
